2012 Golden Gala Supports Hugo, Oneka Schools

A gala to support Hugo and Oneka Elementary Schools will feature food, drinks, auctions, and raffles – all with a Mardi Gras theme.

The 2012 Golden Gala takes place from 5-10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Manitou Station in White Bear Lake. Proceeds will be used to purchase technology like smart boards, digital cameras and projectors.

Washington County Approves Accent Integrated Health Services for Residents

Accent Integrated Health Services will provide homemaker services to Washington County residents, the Board of Commissioners said this week.

The organization will be used for all county residents who receive Medical Assistance and Community Based Services. These services include personal care assistance, adult day care, laundry, shopping and homemaking.

HealthEast Care Systems Offers Free Health Screenings Throughout Metro

A local health care organization is hosting free health screenings for women throughout the month of February.

HealthEast Care System is sponsoring the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign. Screenings will look at total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and body mass index.

WEB FORECAST: Light Snowfall Should End Before Evening Commute

A light snowfall will last into the afternoon, but should end before the Friday evening commute.

KSTP.com Meteorologist Patrick Hammer predicts snowfall totals will be light with 1/2" to 1". Areas north of the Twin Cities toward Brainerd may see up to 2". 

American Legion Fundraiser Benefits Hugo Resident's Family

A benefit has been organized for the family of Dan Smith, a Hugo resident who died unexpectedly at the age of 35.

Smith was born with a congenital heart disorder and had two heart valve replacements. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
