Promotion to Keep Sales Up During Broadway Avenue Construction | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The Broadway Avenue Improvement project is underway, which could make it difficult for more than 150 local businesses to keep sales up. But, a promotion "Where's the Redstone Concrete Truck" launched by the Forest Lake Chamber of Commerce along with Washington County could help keep people shopping locally.
Chamber President Colleen Eddy tells KSTP.com customers will be asked to find a toy concrete truck, and save their receipts from local shops to enter a drawing. Winners of the drawing will win prizes from local businesses. Eddy says "It's just another incentive to get people down there."
The tiny truck with a Redstone logo will be placed at a business along Broadway Avenue. Clues on the truck's hiding spot will be released once every two weeks, and a drawing will take place June 30.
To participate in the contest, shoppers can pick-up a game piece from City Hall. To enter the drawing customers will need to find the truck each of its locations, write down when and where they see it, and staple the information to three receipts from local businesses. They will need to drop off the completed game piece at City Hall.
Eddy says the truck will stay in the same place for two weeks to give people time to get out shopping, before it's moved to a new location.
The first clue for May 1 through May 15 clue is: 'Spring can be a time to clean inside and outside... Start a home project, or go for a bike ride... All of these activities will make a person ready to eat- This place has everything from fruit to bread to meat!'
The second clue will be released Monday, May 16. Check back with ForestLake.KSTP.com for clues.
